Do you take yourself too seriously? Does your life feel overrun by work and responsibility? Do you wish you could be more spontaneous and live in the moment?
Our culture is starting to recognize the necessity of free play for healthy childhood development, but it’s important for adults, too! Play not only reduces stress and increase creativity. It improves brain function and flexibility, strengthens relationship and social skills, and helps to create increased opportunities for joy, connection, and community in our lives.
Theraplay is a space for adults to explore free play and role play through card and board games, with a goal of aiding personal growth and healing, creating deeper intimate connections, and fostering increased creativity. The event will combine drama therapy techniques with more traditional game play to help adults increase their capacities for creative problem solving, emotional expression, empathy, trust, resilience, communication, collaboration, and healthy role development.
If you want to be the best possible version of yourself, add a healthy dose of play to your self care regimin. Dana Sayre, facilitator, is currently working to become certified as a Registered Drama Therapist by the North American Drama Therapy Association.
The event costs $20 – $15 for HPC members. RSVP here.
